When is the next service due on you vehicle/s? Most of us have no idea when and what is due on our vehicles. Is your warranty in force, or have you exceeded the service time or milage where your car warranty is now void.
If you have a business with a fleet of vehicles, do you track the service requirements. This could include boats, off road vehicles and farm equipment.
The best part of having this data is that it is on your iPhone or iPodTouch. This makes it available no mater where you are.
Now there is a inexpensive toll from FMTouch that solves these issues. Now you can track and schedule service on your vehicle/s and maintain your warranty.
Purpose of Files in A1 Vehicle Track:
A1 Vehicle Track; this file is the main screen to setup your individual vehicle/s. This screen has all vital information about the vehicle and warranty coverage.
A1 Vehicle Records; this file is the individual service history records that are created in the Service Record Portal file.
A1 Vehicle Maintenance; this file is a master list of warranty service, scheduled and inspections that are in the owner's service book.
Service Record Portal; this file is the main input file for the individual vehicle/s you need to service. This could include boats, off road vehicles and farm equipment.
Getting Started:
To setup vehicle maintenance and to organize your files, you need the owner's manuals that came with your vehicle. Setting up the maintenance file should take about an hour.
The vehicle track file keeps the data using a Record ID for each vehicle. This means that the maintenance is captured for the specific record for that record id and vehicle. The maintenance records are also for the record id of that specific vehicle.
Setup Maintenance Master List:
The A1 Vehicle Maintenance file shares the maintenance records with all vehicle in that the service list of items available. As you add the maintenance requirements into the file you need to enter a prefix that will group these requirements. Here is an example; the maintenance group field is the key lookup field in maintenance. To establish a group, the prefix before the service has a year and make before the service.
Example "05 Hyundai - Oil Change"
This would be used to identify each different year and make of vehicle. You can use the duplicate record to make it faster to create a new record that then can be modified.
Once you have the maintenance list entered, your ready to add all vehicles. You will need the vehicle sales records to capture data for the A1 Vehicle Track file.
After this file information is entered you can start adding service schedules in the Service Record Portal. Since the service is based on milage or months, the entry of scheduled service would be related to the current miles or months since the last service.
In the service portal the mile interval of the service requirement is a repeat service requirement. The owner's manual has the service intervals, and this will determine what is entered into the portal and maintenance records.
The serviced date and service miles is important warranty data in the portal. This information should be backed up by the service paperwork that was given to you on the date of service.
The database will use the miles at the time of service to calculate the next service miles due.
There is a comment field in the portal that can be used to enter data related to the service provider and any other important data. |
